Well, the day I have dreaded for so long has finally arrived… Dylan has come down with an acute case of PKS. For those not “in the know” PKS is Photographer Kid Syndrome. What this means is that my smiling, impish, fun-loving little boy now refuses to look at me if the “black box of torture” (aka my Nikon D300) is anywhere in the vicinity. And no amount of calling his name, yelling “uh-oh,” singing the “Itsy Bitsy Spider,” making silly noises, or other previously successful (albeit embarassing) tricks will entice him to glance my way – let alone smile. So this Saturday I decided to try something different. I took Dylan to the park and took non-smiling, no-eye-contact pictures. I’ve only processed one so far. What do you think?

Sneak Peek: Maylee

March 3, 2008

Sweet baby girl! As mom to a boy (and I strongly suspect about to be mom to 2 boys!) I have to get my fill of all things girly through my photography. Maylee was 10 days old for our session and none to willing to sleep for me. But we held out and eventually she gave in to sweet baby dreams…
