I recently had the opportunity to meet up with the M family in the Quarter. Little Owen was quite the ham and baby sister Lila was just as sweet as can be.

This one cracks me up… can you guess how old Owen is??

I met up with one of my favorite families last week to get some updated images.  The last time I saw Pierce, he was just a few weeks old. Now look at him:

And last, but certainly not least, big brother Graham. Graham was very much on the go, go, go. But the fountain was interesting enough to slow him down. For a minute or two at least!

It’s back! For real this time. I first launched this contest back in February, but I didn’t have the time to properly get the word out and I dropped the ball. Ooops! But I think it’s such a fun, cool contest that I’m re-launching it. Please spread the word! And for the record, you don’t have to have the biggest or fanciest nursery to win – just a room that you created with love for your baby!

A chance to win a free mini photography session featuring your baby and his or her nursery with Amy Drouet Photography! We would like to see between 1-4 photographs of your space. At least one photograph must include your child in the nursery itself. We are looking for creative use of light, color and design elements. Images must be taken by you or someone in your family (What we’re really saying is: please don’t submit images taken by another professional photographer.)

Entries will be judged by a panel of photographers who will narrow down the selection to 3 nurseries. The finalists will be posted on participating photographer’s blogs and the winner will be chosen via a public voting poll. There are specific rules around voting that will be clarified during the voting round of the contest.

First prize will be a free mini session featuring your baby in his or her fab nursery as well as a mini print package featuring (1) 8×10 and (2) 5×7 prints of the image of your choice. Winning session must take place by June 30, 2010. Winners must live 25 miles or less from zip code 70124. Winners must sign a release to allow participating photographers to display images on blog, website, Facebook Business Page and any other print or web materials as deemed appropriate.

The Fine Print.

This is our contest, we make the rules. We have researched many different ways of voting and there are pros and cons and hanging chads in just about every method out there. This is how we have decided to run our contest, if it’s not a fit for you, we respectfully accept your decision to decline participation. We also know there are ways to work around the system, so we will actively monitor IP addresses and research anything that appears to be fishy. We reserve the right to disqualify any entry that appears to be suspicious.

All participants must agree to sign a model release allowing images to be displayed on participating blogs. Winning participants must sign a release allowing images taken by participating photographers to be displayed on web site, blog, Facebook and print advertising sources. Participants must also agree to standard Terms & Conditions of participating photographers.

Winning participants will receive a complimentary session focusing on nursery, baby and/or family as outlined by participating photographer. Additional items may also be included. Regular session terms and conditions apply.

We require an electronically marked consent that you are entering this contest voluntarily and that participating photographer is not promising any winnings or other compensation for participation.

Do you remember the Sound of Music? As I edit these pictures that movie keeps popping in my head. Why? Because  these are a few of my favorite things… moms with great taste and adorable baby outfits, babies with big blue eyes, doting dads, old New Orleans houses with big beautiful windows and lovely, mossy old brick walls. And the L family had it all…

Phew! Have I mentioned that it’s been busy, busy, busy around here?  But I’m sneaking in with Chalon an J.P.’s sneak peek just barely before their gallery will be ready.  Aren’t they so cute??  I can’t wait to meet this little baby!

I’ve been photographing these two since they just a couple weeks old. I can’t believe they’re already walking – and running!

Sweet little Silar just did not want to be naked for her session. What can I say, she’s a modest little girly-girl already! No matter, we still got great shots of her. My favorites – the shots of her in her gorgeous white nursery!

I just love how teen-tiny she is in her crib.

Poor little Austin wasn’t feeling well for his session and so wasn’t too excited to get his pictures taken. I think we still got some adorable images though. J+M – I hope you agree!

Okay, readers… you know how I always say that patience and perseverance pay off with newborns? Well, not ALWAYS! Little miss Ione did not want to miss one second of her session. She was awake her whole session and onto all of my usual tricks. Never the less, we got some adorable bright-eyed pics of her and some lovely photos of her with her beautiful big sister Iris.

I have to admit, the demand I’ve seen for sessions so far this year has thrilled, humbled and – most of all – surprised me. I’m finding myself just a little bit behind on… well, pretty much everything. But I think I’m finding my rhythm again now and getting caught up. So here I am, a tad bit late, to share this lovely couple and their soon-to-arrive bundle of joy. I can’t wait to meet her!
