Due to a stay in the NICU after birth, Tyler’s newborn  session took place a bit late… he was about 4.5 weeks old when we did his photo shoot and he wanted nothing to do with sleeping shots. But that’s okay, we got some really cute awake shots instead.  And isn’t his hair fantastic???

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

December 24, 2010

From my family to yours…. we wish you the merriest, happiest, most joyful Christmas ever.

~ Amy

The W triplets are back! They’re one year old. And they could not be any cuter if they tried. Three sets of big browns eyes, delicious heads of curls, and sweet round baby faces… heaven!

Every once in a while I meet a newly arrived baby so enamored of me that he or she just can’t bear to close their eyes and go to sleep.

Okay, not really.

But every once in a while I do meet a sweet newborn that is determined to spend his or her newborn session wide awake, checking out all of the proceedings. Sweet Sophie was just such a baby. Don’t let these sleeping shots fool you…. those were just light cat naps!  But that’s okay, the trade-off is that we got to see lots of those pretty brown eyes.

Have I mentioned lately how much I love late afternoon sessions? That hour or so before sunset, when the sun is low and the light is warm and golden, is just magical – and we fully enjoyed it with sweet Dalyan. He was a trooper for us, smiling gummy baby smiles and making silly faces,  right up until the end as the sun was setting and he was just drifting off to sleep…

Sneak Peek: G Family

December 10, 2010

In the past year or so I have had the pleasure of photographing (now) four of our black and gold families. It’s always an priviledge because, like so many others here in the city, football has come to mean so more to me than just a game. It’s a symbol of the resurgence that our city has experienced – and of all we still hope to accomplish.

But when you meet some of the players and get invited into their lives (even briefly), what strikes you is not football or symbolism. It’s the love. And the G family has it in abundance. To see the way they interact with each other – the warmth, the joy, the humor – is truly amazing. They clearly adore each other, cherish their son and  eagerly await their soon-to-arrive baby.

K+J – Enjoy the peek and best of luck in the coming weeks. Your baby will truly be blessed.

I’m sure it will come as no surprise to anyone when I tell you that 4 and 6 year old boys don’t especially like getting their photos taken. But these two cousins were troopers, letting me trek them around the park to some of my favorite spots. And if it took a little boogeying down behind my back by mom and dad to get some great smiles…. well that’s just our little secret. ;)

I’m not going to lie to you, my blog reader friends… little Cecelia gave me a bit of a run for my money.  She was wiiiiiide awake when we started her session – and determined to stay that way!  But with lots of feeding and rocking, she eventually succumbed to our plan…

Doesn’t she make an adorable Santa baby?

I’m attempting to get caught back up here on the blog!

This is sweet little Ashton. Ashton was so good to me. He slept great and barely made a peep until the very end, when he woke up to show us those gorgeous eyes.

As happens more frequently this time of year, my blog is once again slipping behind. I’m almost done with Katie and Josh’s maternity gallery and I haven’t even posted the sneak peek yet! So without further ado, here it is. I can’t wait to meet their Christmas bundle!
