February 28, 2011

Phew! It was a whirlwind week of catching up with my family, spending time with old friends and meeting new friends – and a lot of fun.  I didn’t get to see everyone that I wanted to, but I guess that just means I’ll need to go up again!

For now though I am back in New Orleans. I have about 50 messages in my inbox to catch up on and a few galleries to get out so those will be my priorities over the next few days. If you have a message in to me and I haven’t responded yet, please give me a day or so to clean out the backlog and I’ll be in touch.

Happy Mardi Gras!

Welcome to the world sweet little Connor! Connor belongs to our lovely neighbors and I know he is a long-awaited bundle of joy. I look forward to seeing all four of our boys, imcluding Connor,  running around and playing together in the years to come!

With a Dylan of my own at home, it goes without saying that I’m partial to this little guy’s name. But even without  the name this little guy would be irresistible… big blue eyes, pudgy round cheeks and a gummy two-toothed smile that’s too cute for words. What’s not to love?

BOSTON!

Okay, so I’m not in Boston yet. Truthfully I’m still sitting in my home office in New Orleans tying up a thousand and one loose ends. But I’m tying up those loose ends because tomorrow morning I’m boarding a jet plane for Boston and I’ll be gone about a week. During this time I will not be able to access my email and for all intents and purposes, Amy Drouet Photography will be closed. Please know that if you call or email me during this time, I will return your message the week of 2/28, as soon as I possibly can.  Otherwise have a wonderful week! I’m looking forward to be back in New Orleans in time to celebrate Mardi Gras!

Legend was celebrating his two week birthday when we met for his session this week. And what a charmer he was…. he dozed peacefully for most of the session, letting us move him around around his gorgeous home for some fun shots and then opened those beautiful eyes for us the end.

I can hardly believe it’s already been three months since I last saw this pretty little girl. She’s changed so much so quickly. I’m sure I’ll scarcely recognize her by her next session!

Jacob started out our session wiiiiide awake and after a while mom and I began to wonder if we’d ever get him to sleep. But mom knew just what to do. A little cuddling and soothing and Jacob drifted off to sleep and slept wonderfully for all the sleepy, posed shots.

It was a cold, cold, cooooooooold morning when I met up with this cute couple for their maternity session. But they were troopers! And the good news is that the cold meant that we had the French Quarter pretty much to ourselves. We had lots of fun exploring Quarter and I can’t wait to meet this this little baby in just a few more weeks.

I have to warn y’all, there is some serious cuteness ahead. Because there’s not much cuter than a 6 month old sweetie-pie… except 6-month old sweetie-pie TWINS!

Joshua

Christopher

Love, love, love  this one!

Doesn’t it look like Christopher is telling Joshua all of his secrets? Too cute!

Sweet Campbell had a drizzly afternoon for her 9 month session but we went with it – because it was warm! And Campbell was a trooper, showing off her crawling and standing skills for the camera.
